What is snail mucin?
The snail mucin is obtained from Roman snails. Their mucus naturally contains glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid. Thus, active ingredients we find very often in cosmetic products.

You don't get any statements from the manufacturers on how the snail mucin is obtained. There is a lot of speculation from the gentle removal of the mucus, the snails walking over special surfaces to stressing the animals to promote secretion. One wonders, of course, why it is such a secret….
In a 2018 article, I found information that said Cosrx and Mizon don't torment snails.

At the moment it`s not possible to give a reliable answer as to whether the promised effect really comes from the snail mucin or from other ingredients contained in the products. The study situation is simply too meager. There is more research on snail mucin for wound healing, stomach ulcers that shows positive results. Here is a study that looked at snail secretion in skin care in combination with snail egg extract. However, there is a potential conflict of interest:
