Vegan natural cosmetics from head to toe - Satin Naturel cruelty-free - Testreview

I got the Satin Naturel** gift set for Christmas and wanted to test it right away. It is beautifully packaged in a sturdy black box and a classy red bow. According to the name, the products lie on a white satin cloth. The containers are great. The dark glass bottles preserve the effects of the ingredients longer. The pump dispensers also help to protect against the premature loss of effectiveness due to oxidation. How long the products can be kept after opening can be read on the symbol with the opened jar (e.g. 12 M = 12 months). You can buy the products directly via the affiliate links marked with **

Principles of Satin Naturel

Satin Naturel replaces water with aloe vera. This makes the products very moisturizing. With other products you will usually find water (or aqua) in the first position of the inci. Not only natural but organic. The contamination of raw materials by pesticides affect the ingredients of cosmetics. Satin Naturel relies on organic quality. There is no official organic label for cosmetics in Germany. However, a certified organic product must officially guarantee 100% organic cultivation.

All Satin Naturel poducts are vegan/cruelty-free.

Their products are free of parabens, mineral oils, silicones, microplastics.

The products are Made in Germany. The raw materials are naturally sourced internationally. For example argan oil from Morocco.

Is Satin Naturel natural cosmetic?

The products are described on the containers as "Natural care". Due to the above principles of SN, the products are attributed to the natural cosmetics segment. In general: "Natural cosmetics" is not a protected term in Germany. Depending on your personal requirements for the products, you should therefore always do some research about what is behind the term at the respective company. The standards of the manufacturers differ from each other.

Quality seals on Satin Natural products

Öko-Test "Very Good" for the Organic Aloe Vera Gel. vergleich.org: Those are not the company's own tests. Data from various test providers such as Stiftung Warentest or Amazon reviews are collected and by that own data comparisons are created

Dermatest: Independent dermatological institute. All of the products described below have received a "very good" rating in the company's test. This quality seal is defined as follows: "*Products that have managed to receive this seal have proven their safety in patch tests that are limited in place and time. The respective test period is noted on the seal."

Iip: Internat. Institut für Produktbewertungen: Seriousness questionable. Unfortunately, the website stated on the quality seal is not finished (01/2022). Testwatch questions seriousness. Hardly any information can be found.

The products from the gift set

97.5% aloe vera with an aloverose content of 1200 mg/L, which is the minimum amount for qualitative, effective aloe vera products. Application: face, hair, body - e.g. especially as after-sun care. Application: face, body Odour: needs to get used to it, strong Colour: yellow-orange Consistency: liquid Unfortunately, Satin Naturel does not disclose the percentage of vitamins it contains, even when I asked, and refers to the position of the ingredient in the Inci list. Pure retinol is used (INCI position 3). Packaging: Dark glass pump dispenser. Especially with this product very positive, since otherwise the sensitive molecules of vitamins such as C and A can quickly lose their effect.

Effects of argan oil:

Antioxidative, antibacterial, moisturizing

Application: face Odour: very rosy Color: colorless Consistency: liquid, slightly oily Quality seal: vergleich.org - Dermatest According to their website “high concentration of multi-molecular hyaluronic acid”. Unfortunately says little about the actual content. Theoretically, the largest proportion could still fall on the high molecular weight hyaluronic acid and a smaller part on low molecular weight forms. Nevertheless, hyaluronic acid is a very good moisturizer, binds water and can therefore plump up small wrinkles

(more about hyaluronic acid forms you can find in my blog article here).
