What is Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate?

Galactomyces belong to the group of fungi. The Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is a yeast product that is produced when fermenting sake. It is said to have been discovered in Japan in the 1970s after noticing how young and fresh the hands of sake brewers looked. Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is rich in nutrients that are good for our skin. E.g. vitamins/antioxidants and amino acids.

Is Galactomyces Ferment Filtrat better than other antioxidative ingredients?

The study situation on fermented ingredients in cosmetics is still very meager. Especially in comparison to well-studied active ingredients such as retinol or vitamin C. However, there are studies that show positive effects.

What are the benefits of fermented ingredients for the skin?

Valuable vitamins and amino acids are produced by fermentation. These are also better absorbed by the skin. Fermenting improves the absorption of nutrients because the process breaks them down into smaller molecules. This results in increased effectiveness. A study (📖) showed advantages of the fermented substance over the non-fermented one (red ginseng). It also showed an increased anti-wrinkle effect and an improved whitening effect.
